The only contribution I have to this - I'm going to try to be there.

Work has been insane to the max.  I will have avoided working two weekends in a row after this coming one, but they may not be happy if I dodge the next one.  That being said, I'm pretty sure they're taking advantage of their labor force by now...

Please note we will be wrapping up by 2:00AM at the latest. There is a big event in the CCCR the following morning at 8:00AM, and we are responsible for tearing down our stuff and also setting up for the following event. The setup includes a stage, 18 tables, 63 chairs, and sweeping the floor if anyone happens to make a mess. For anyone that would be willing to stick around after the LAN and help with teardown and setup, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
The Management

Alright, the Bawls arrived and are looking good. Because there are a lot of them, Brian and I were thinking about splitting the case, and giving away half as a raffle and the other half could either be sold or be a prize for a competition of some sorts. Thoughts?

So many things I could say...I think I'll pass on this one and leave the honors to Viper.

Just a reminder: no K-State entity can hold a raffle, however they can offer a "free-will" donation.  I believe chicken is the expert on this subject and can elaborate on the technicalities.

As far as competition...anything but TF2 PLEASE! Babo seems oddly appropriate though.

I tried to make that an easy one lol.

I agree completely on this one. I'd say Quake III or Halo are good ones too, but everyone there will have Babo so that one would probably be best.
MW3 is free for the weekend on steam so that might work as well, but the problem that the multiplayer blows still remains. And for server reasons I guess. So scratch that one lol.

We have the free version of Halo CE on the download servers, it works with v1.04 of our server and clients. Also, MW3 isn't that bad as long as everyone starts at the same level with the same weapons. Optimus can't run the dedserv because it checks the CPU clock (like that means much) and the old Opertons are not clocked that high. But someone could host a dedserv from their desktop, it's a free download on steam.

I guess we can figure it out tomorrow while setting up. I don't know what time would work for everyone else, but I won't be able available to help setup until after 2:30.

NOTICE: We might be getting off to a late start this evening as our room reservation has been adjusted so that we can not get into the room until 4:00. Go ahead and show up at 6:00 but check-in before you bring in your computer.

I feel its my duty to comment.  The poster has a giant picture of two blue bawls on them.  OK, that is all I have to contribute to this.  Enjoy the lan gentlemen.

Also I'm making it a personal goal to make it to one of these soon.  Does my iPad count as a gaming console?  =P

Ranks right up there with the old man-ass posters. I miss those posters...in the most heterosexual way possible. :)

Uhm...no. But we'll make an exception for the underground terrorist.  :)

Pretty decent turn out, I'd say 40+ easy.
